Kate Spade On Campus
Kate Spade on Campus is the brand’s campus tour campaign, bringing Kate Spade to college students across the country, and I got to be part of it as a contracted consultant. My job was to help make the stop at UGA feel like a real fall fashion moment for students, not just another pop-up. From planning promotion strategy, student outreach, and social content, I worked to make sure the experience fit what UGA students actually care about. Here’s a look at what I did.
Student Outreach and Promotion
As a Kate Spade liaison, I connected the brand with students through campus-focused outreach and promotional efforts. I built relationships with Panhellenic and promoted events, offers, and new collections in ways that felt relevant and authentic to a student audience. By understanding what resonated with this group, I helped grow brand awareness, drive foot traffic, and encourage 450 attendees to engage with Kate Spade.
Guest Management and Ambassador Coordination
I managed guest lists, RSVPs, and check-in for brand events, making sure every attendee felt welcomed and had a smooth, memorable experience. I also coordinated a team of 5 student ambassadors by communicating expectations, assigning roles, and providing the product knowledge and brand talking points they needed to represent Kate Spade well. Staying organized and responsive helped events run on schedule and kept the ambassador team motivated and aligned.
Social Media Strategy and Execution
I helped shape and carry out social media content that reflected Kate Spade’s bright, playful voice and spoke directly to a younger audience. This included planning posts, capturing event and product content, and encouraging ambassadors and guests to share their experiences.
What I learned from the Kate Spade
My time as a Kate Spade liaison taught me how to represent a brand with confidence and consistency, whether I was talking with customers, leading ambassadors, or creating social content. I learned that strong relationships are built on clear communication and follow-through, and that staying organized is essential when coordinating events, guests, and teams at the same time. I also gained a deeper understanding of how marketing works in practice, from reading what resonates with a student audience to adapting my approach based on engagement. Most importantly, I developed the adaptability, initiative, and professionalism that I’ll carry into any role I take on next.
